I will be hosting the Futurist Meal – that’s futurism as in the Italian artistic and philosophical movement of the 1930s – at the Edinburgh Science Festival on March 31st at Summerhall in the Scotland’s gorgeous capital. I’ll host the wonderful Prof Neil Cox, from Edinburgh College of Art, Charlie Harry Francis, culinary inventor and founder of Lick Me I’m Delicious, sound artist Dave House, poet Calum Roger, plus “confrontational canapes and disturbing dishes”. As a partial Italian and a die-hard fan of another futurist treatise, Russolo’s The Art of Noises (1913), I, for one, am stoked.
